Expanded Polystyrene - EPS

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a lightweight, rigid, and foamed material consisting of 98% air. It is easy to use, environmentally safe, moisture-resistant, and provides adequate thermal insulation for both new and existing buildings (λd=0.033–0.038, depending on quality).
Regarding external wall insulation systems, international experience and practice across global markets clearly show that expanded polystyrene is the most widely used insulation material, accounting for over 80% of all external thermal insulation systems (ETICS).
Expanded Polysterine EPS protects the building — and particularly its structural elements — from thermal shocks caused by sharp temperature variations in the environment, while ensuring the breathability of the masonry.
It is also used as packaging material for the transport of delicate products.

  • It has very good thermal insulation properties (λD = 0.033–0.038 W/mK).
  • It is produced with mechanical strength ranging from 30 kPa to 200 kPa, in order to meet any project requirement.
  • It has structural stability and does not degrade over time. It is one of the most moisture-resistant insulation materials.
  • It is self-extinguishing, as it contains a flame retardant additive within its mass, which inhibits the spread of fire.
  • It offers the best price-to-performance ratio, being one of the most economical insulation materials on the market.
