Mapetherm Tile System XL

Mapetherm Tile System XL is an advanced External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS) that combines high energy efficiency with exceptional mechanical strength, making it the ideal solution for modern façades with large ceramic or stone surfaces. It provides continuous thermal insulation, eliminates thermal bridges, and offers increased resistance to thermal stress, moisture, and frost, while ensuring flawless aesthetics and long-lasting durability.

Thanks to MAPEI’s specialized products, the system allows the installation of tiles up to 100×150 cm (thin format) and traditional ceramics up to 60×120 cm, offering complete design freedom for both new constructions and renovation projects.

The Mapetherm Tile System XL is a multi-layer adhesive system consisting of:

• Surface preparation: When wall flatness and verticality requirements are not met, use the fiber-reinforced render Intomap R2 Fibro.
• Adhesive for insulation panels: Polymer-modified (resin-based) cementitious adhesive Mapetherm AR1 or Mapetherm AR1 GG.
• Thermal insulation boards: Expanded polystyrene (EPS) – white or graphite – with compressive strength of 200 kPa, or mineral wool.
• Reinforced structural render: Two-component, high-strength, highly elastic mortar Planitop HDM Maxi.
• Reinforcement mesh: Alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh Mapegrid G 120.
• Mechanical fixings: Anchors with thermal break for secure attachment of the insulation boards.
• Corner profiles: Fixed and drip-edge corner beads (PVC with fiberglass mesh on both sides) for reinforcement of external edges.
• Tile adhesive: Flexible deformable adhesive Ultralite S2 Flex.
• Grout: Water-repellent grout Ultracolor Plus.

In addition to the materials listed above, the system includes complementary components required for the complete and technically correct installation and finishing of the system.
